Discord, the most popular chat and communication platform for gamers, is moving through a sales process that could bring billions of dollars to the table.
According to Bloomberg, the tech giant Microsoft is interested and possibly in talks with Discord in acquiring them with hefty $10 billion or even more. While the report does not legitimately suggest that the agreement has been made but the news seems somewhat possible since Microsoft was hungry in buying TikTok too.
This is the same giant that wanted to buy TikTok.
Microsoft has been using its Teams weapon against Slack so aggressively that it is almost dominating the platform and this proves Microsoft’s move to be aggressive towards leading-but-acquirable platforms such as Discord. This is the same giant that wanted to buy TikTok.
However, Microsoft is a delight, as it is not just a service known to create Xbox. It’s been almost a decade since Microsoft bought Yammer to improve its social media efforts and five years or more when it bought LinkedIn. Adding Discord services to the fold can provide a great weapon against Slack or other options from Google, Facebook and Amazon.
